Congratulations to one of our chapter members and website/marketing consultant, Simon Stones, who has been awarded a conference scholarship by the International Family Nursing Foundation to support his attendance at the virtual 15th International Family Nursing Conference (IFNC15).
Simon is a fourth-year postgraduate researcher undertaking his PhD in Healthcare at the University of Leeds, UK. Simon has a rich and varied background, with an undergraduate degree in Biomedical Sciences, experience of working in medical communications/strategic consultancy, and as an a multi-award winning health advocate for people living with chronic conditions. Inspired by his own experiences, Simon is a passionate believer in supporting children and young people to become proud and competent self-managers, with the support and encouragement of their families. Family-centred care and support are at the heart of Simon’s values, evidenced by the research he has undertaken for his PhD and externally. Simon started his postdoctoral career in 2021, as an Associate Medical Writer in a biopharmaceutical company. He believes that research belongs to everyone, including young people and families, who have a right to get involved in research, and access research findings in a way in which is accessible and relevant.
